Katrina Lonergan
Nature and Photography have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, starting with photography club at school and squirrels in the park as willing subjects. It seemed a natural progression to move on to bigger subjects. Totally self taught, my work stems from instinct and passion, I see the real beauty and that comes through in the photographs I take, because they are taken with feeling. I do not believe in changing an image to become something else, photoshopping a picture is like putting paint on petals, i occasionally alter light or saturation slightly, apart from this what you see is the reality not the fantasy.
I was born on the South Coast of England in 1968. After visiting the peak district i decided to live there for a year to have a real chance to capture some of the beauty england has to offer. I moved to Germany at the begining of the year and am now happily photographing the beauty of a new country.
Every thing of beauty should be shared not just remembered by the viewer in my opinion. Photography is my way of sharing the things that made me think or smile.
I regularly do animal charity photography, and do celebration and developmental photography.
Peace and happiness
